Where to go this weekend?

We all look forward to the weekend but there’s always the question of what to do during the weekend. To help to decide where to go this weekend we have compiled a list of our top choices for things to do this weekend that are bound to be beneficial both mentally and physically.

Timeless Monas

One of our top choices is to visit the Monas. We feel that people often forget to visit and enjoy the Monas. It not only houses the national monument but a large garden as well! Making it perfect for family/friends gathering. If you feel like enjoying the sun why not have a picnic as well? Bring along a mat, some sandwiches and a kite and you’ve got the perfect gathering for your family or for your friends. If you want, you can add in a soccer ball to the mix as well.

So, if you’re looking for a relaxing Saturday or Sunday afternoon why not visit the Monas? We agree it gets crowded but you’re bound to find a little quiet oasis in the large piece of land.

Learning in Jakarta

Have you heard of the new trend in Jakarta? People in Jakarta are choosing to spend their time and money at various workshops. Why not join in and learn a new skill this weekend? You might just find your passion.

If you’re interested in finding a workshop this weekend (or any other weekend) head over to maubelajapa.com, wewocraft or indoestri. All of these platforms list a unique blend of classes ranging from art classes to more physical yoga / exercise. Some upcoming classes include a terrarium workshop and a rooftop zhumba workout. We’re sure you’ll find something to try!

Weekend trip

If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, it’s the perfect time to explore what lies a bit further then Jakarta boundaries. There are the classic options like Puncak or Bogor but we’re thinking of something a bit more adventurous.

Try visiting the Jeep Station for a dose of adventure like no other. At the jeep station, you get to stay in the ‘wilderness’ and you get to explore driving a jeep – the kind that goes on all-terrains.

If driving is not your thing, why not try one the many glamping grounds popping up a few hours away from Jakarta? Glamping is like camping but with a little bit more glamour. Read up more about it here.

So those are our top picks for what to do over the weekend in Jakarta. If none of these are your thing, there’s always shopping.
